Tamil Nadu forest department has slapped a fine on a film production company which shot in the Sathyamangalam forests, for littering the jungle areas. Actor Vijay's father, S A Chandrasekhar, had arrived along with his film crew in Sathyamangalam forests, a proposed tiger reserve, in the first week of January to shoot his come-back movie 'Sattapadi Kutram'. Sathyaraj and director Seeman playing the lead role. The forest department's decision to grant permission for film shooting in the sensitive Sathyamangalam forests, which is an emerging haven for tigers, had drawn the ire of environmentalists."We undertook an inspection of the forests and found the film crew had littered the forest areas and disturbed the shrubs near the pond," Sathyamangalam DFO N Sathish told. They also disturbed the natural vegetation to acquire sticks to shoot the silambattam scenes, the official said. Film production company Star Makers Movie Producers camped in Asanur and shot on the roads abutting the jungles for nearly a fortnight."We have slapped a fine of Rs 15,000 which they have paid," the DFO said.
